LET ME COUNT THE LAYERS

Are you in LOVE with layers?  It has been so cold lately, I have been making it my personal mission to wear as many layers as possible.  But, I think I went too far with this ensemble.  What do you think?  I am wearing, an over sized infinity scarf, a cardigan, a silk blouse, my favorite jean jacket and a vest!  Wow, that's take layering to a whole other level!  Let me know how  you feel about layers this season?

Sorry, no outfit post today.  My outfit was a little boring.  I am crossing my fingers for some inspiration.  Thinking about cleaning out my closet and doing a little inventory.  Perhaps some shopping is in order?

FURRRRRREAL ITS FAUX

A few months ago I posted this vest from Charlotte Russe.  Guess what, I got it for Christmas.  Its beautiful!  I love the color, reminds me of a raccoon.  Don't worry no raccoons were harmed so I could have this vest, I think?
This lovely vest came with a pleather belt, I removed it.  I had to draw the line somewhere: faux fur+ pleather= a fashion NO NO for me.  The belt was really bad!  I digress, this vest is sold out online and in most stores, Sorry ladies.

This picture was taken on Friday, I promise you it was sunny outside!  I am looking at the pictures and thinking "who wears sunglasses at night?"  Not me, I have to blame the dark photo on my 11 year old photographer again!  Still looking for a replacement, but he works for food so it's hard to find someone to replace him.

SCARF--TASTIC

Just a few scarves I have made so far.  I am really thinking about selling them.  Right now I am just making them for family and friends.  Currently, working on one for my hairdresser, one for Ms. Terry, and all one for ALL my girlfriends from college.  Wow, I am going to be really busy this weekend.  Let me get back to work,  these scarves aren't going to make themselves!  Have a great weekend!

crowd favorite, the orange infinity scarf.

Cardboard Confessions

I have recently become fascinated by Taxidermy.  The idea of having a dead animal hanging over my mantle is very scary.  So, thankfully I discovered a more animal friendly alternative, Cardboard Safari.  This website offers some really cool decorating ideas.  I am thinking of purchasing the Elephant or the Texas Longhorn.  I can't decide.  How cool is this site?  Please go check them out and help me with my decision before I end up with one of each, I tend to over do it sometimes!  So, please save me from creating a cardboard Animal Planet in my home.

All Black To The Max

Well, I guess you are wondering, why the screw face?  These pictures were taken a few months ago.  My cameraman  son was having a moment.  At that moment, he wanted to play the Wii, watch TV, or hide in the family room.  Anything, but play blog photographer.  I have been meaning to FIRE him, but I have no other qualified applicants right now.  So, he will stay on the payroll, for now!

If I Were

Cupcakes are ONE of the greatest things ever created, would you agree?  I have a certain fascination with these tiny delights.  A whole lot of portion controlled goodness in a perfectly pleated wrapper.  I know what your thinking, it just cake, but its far more than that.  I am planning to bake cupcakes this weekend, so please stay tuned, it should be very interesting.  Sorry, I will not be baking Red Velvet--Sad Face...
If I were a cupcake, I would be a Red Velvet Cupcake!  How about you, what flavor would you be?

PURPLE REIGN

scarf:  Made by ME
sweater:  American Eagle (thrifted)
jeans:  Levi's DIY and thrifted
boots:  Rocket Dog

OK, my Monday morning confession!  My name is Lynn and I am a crochet-aholic!  I have been crocheting non stop since before Christmas.  It is so relaxing and I just can't stop!  I have even made a infinity scarf for my niece and she is only 18months old!  The Mr. thinks I am totally crazy.  I overheard him telling one of his buddy's on the phone, "she's crocheting another scarf!"  HA!  I will have the warmest neck in the tri-state area.
Any who, not sure if this combo matches, but I needed to debut the purple goodness that I created this weekend.  I started on Friday and finished on Saturday, so what do you think?  You like it?  I smell a giveaway coming, so stay tuned ladies.

Give ASOS Your PESOS

I love fur, sooooo much.  Real fur, faux fur, ALL fur is good fur.  Sorry PETA!  Please don't judge me too harshly.  This post contains only Faux Fur so no animals were harmed to make any of these items, that's my disclaimer, for now.
Here are my tips on how to purchase a fur at the thrift store.  Here is what I found to be true in my area.  It is best to shop for Furs or any winter items out of season.  So, over the summer I look for winter coats and furs.  This summer, I was particularly successful.  I purchased one jacket and one long fur swing coat for for less than $20.  No, not a piece.  I paid $20 for two coats!  Score!!  My local thrift store offers 50% off after 6pm on Saturdays and 33% off every Sunday all day!  Can you say, FurTastic?  Just in case your local thrift store is all out of furs for the season ASOS may have what you need/want.  All the coats and  jackets were all under $200!  Which one is your favorite.  I WANT THEM ALL!

Oh Dany!

Oh, these lovely shoes arrived for me as a Christmas treat from my honey!  I dropped enough hints and texted him the info, web address, and so on!  Finally, right before Christmas I got a comment from VeronicGlam, alerting me that they were on SALE.  The Mr. loves a SALE!  So, I let him know, not so subtly that they were on SALE and he got them for me!  Anyone interested?  They are still on sale, check out Jessica Simpson's website to get a few pairs.   They are $69.99 with an additional 25% off at checkout PLUS free shipping until 1/10/11!!!!!  At less than $50 a pair, you can't get just one!  I have another pair on the way, SHHHHH.

Carried Away With Crochet

I have been crocheting!  It is so very relaxing.  Because I am such a fan of the infinity scarf I decided that I would whip up a few up in my spare time.  So, to You Tube I went for a quick tutorial.
I am still learning and perfecting the technique of crocheting.  So, I welcome any tips you ladies may have.  I made 3 no 4 more as stocking stuffers for family and friends.  Oh, just in case you were wondering, each scarf cost less than $5 to make.  Gotta love that!
