Chocolate Dreams!

Yummmo!  Hey look, my first food post.  OK, so here goes.  It's New years Eve and I have been browsing my google reader and I came across this recipe.  I needed a quick snack for the kids AND something that would satisfy MY sweet toothFound it!!!  Brownie Covered Oreos.  So easy and seriously delicious.  First, I must say Thank You to the Inside BruCrew Life blog for posting this recipe.  Now, take a look.

You will need your favorite brownie mix and a pack of Oreos, see told you it was simple.

Just follow the directions to make the brownies.  Then, dunk each Oreo until they are completely coated.  Don't forget to spray your muffin pan with cooking spray or use my all time favorite Baker's Joy.

Pop them in the oven for 8-10 minutes

See how easy it is?  The kids and I loved them.  They were a tasty snack for us all.  Hope you are enjoying this New Years Eve as much as I am!  See you all next year.

Why Pay More, if you could PayLess?

Happy Thursday ladies!  We had our first real snow storm on Sunday and Monday.  Can we talk about being unprepared for mother nature's brutal attack?  OK, a slight exaggeration we only got about 8 or 10 inches of snow.  However, I  was unprepared for it.  I did not have enough salt/ice melt for the walkway and driveway.  We also needed a new shovel snow blower.  I hate to shovel, by the way.  Snow is pretty to look at, but  not good for much else.
Any who, this post was prompted by my recent trip to Payless to find snow boots for my son/photographer.  I must go on record and say, I am NOT a Payless kinda gal.  However, I was surprised by a few items they had available and since not ONE snow boot was left on the shelf in ANY size.  I took the opportunity to browse the accessories.  I purchased 4 more pairs of knee and over the knee socks for $12!  Shocked by the price?  I was very shocked, in fact so shocked that I went on the website to see what else I could find.   Any good Reccessionistas and Budgetnisas should run not walk to Payless and grab some leg wear and other fun accessories.
Oh, and guess what, they have a few designers collections that you may like, let me know what you think.  I am still very conflicted about purchasing shoes from Payless, let me know your thoughts. Would you buy shoes from Payless, why or why not?

Looking Forward

As this New year is fast approaching, I am reviewing my resolutions from 2010.  My one unaccomplished resolution from last year must be added to the top of the  2011 list.  2011 resolution #1 is to pay off all debt and to create and emergency fund. Bottom line, I need to be WAY more fiscally responsible.  This will require me to cut out any unnecessary spending and to pay for all purchases using CASH ONLY!  What if any resolutions have you made or are you making this year?  Please share, or do you think the practice of creating resolutions is silly, let me know what you think.

Mono-Beautiful

Look what I found!  OK, so I was reading a blog today and I spotted this beautiful piece of jewelry and had to share.  If you want to see it, check out the website Max and Chloe or bop on over to Atlantic-Pacific and see how Blair is wearing it!  She has a great bog, by the way.
I am so ordering this, thus breaking my shopping ban X2.  I also broke it to order Jessica Simpson's Dany, but I digress.  Back to this exquisite piece of jewelry.  Don't ya just love it?  OK, I just LOVE it.  I think it is so beautiful, classic and timeless.  I am a fan of silver, but it does come in white gold and yellow gold as well.  The prices are very reasonable, ranging from $135 to well over $1000!  I think this will make a great mother's day, birthday, or "just because" gift.  I so wish I found it sooner, Mommy Dearest would have received one for Christmas this year.  Hope you like LOVE it as much as I do!

Calgon, Take Me Away!

Is it Monday already?  I am still Christmas shopping, food shopping, and  working!  Calgon, take me away.  Do they still make Calgon?  Hmm.  Well, ladies if you are anything like me you still have a few gifts to pick up and a few more pies and cookies to bake.  I think I may take off Thursday and Friday to finish my shopping.  I am hosting Christmas dinner, yes I am crazy.  This time I am co hosting with the Mr.  He is actually helping, it must be Christmas, HA! We have invited both of our families for appetizers and dinner.  My mother has volunteered to cook a few things, YESSS.  My sister, who is cooking impaired will make the ONE thing she can pull off, Macaroni and Cheese and the rest is ALL me.  Wish me luck.

Tabio is Fabio-losity

These socks, tights, and legwarmers are the only reason to LOVE the winter months.  I have been wearing skirts daily just so I can wear my new collection of OTK socks, thigh high socks, and tights.  I have yet to get up the courage to wear leg warmers.  However, this fabulous collection that Tabio offers has me considering the possibilities.  So, if anyone wants to send me a lovely Christmas gift, hint-hint.  Here are just a few suggestions.  Tabio has a wonderful selection and they come in great GREAT colors and prints.  It was love at first tights  sight for me.  Ladies, let me know if you have a favorite by Tabio or in your personal collection.  I would love to hear where you ladies are finding great leg wear this season!
